Violence erupts in Kaimur during the counting of the Bihar Assembly Election, and the situation turned tense within minutes. They shouted slogans and demanded that the officials release the result from round 25. The crowd claimed that the round 24 result was declared on time, but the next update was delayed without any explanation. Supporters blocked the southern road and refused to move. When police officers tried to clear the area, the crowd threw stones and damaged vehicles. A senior officer’s car was set on fire. Police responded with tear-gas shells and force to control the situation.
Six security personnel were injured in the clash. The injured include CRPF ASI Rajkumar Mishra, Sub-Inspector Krishnakant Mishra, Havaldars Yogendra Sharma and Bhim Sen, GR Commando Sanjay Kumar Rana, and a District Police jawan. Two officers suffered serious injuries and received immediate medical care.
District Superintendent Harimohan Shukla led the team that restored order at the counting centre. Officials continued the counting process under tight security.
