Chief Electoral Officer Naveen Mahajan, during a conversation with Pawan Arora, CEO and Managing Editor of First India News, elaborated on the purpose and significance of the Special Intensive Revision (S.I.R.). He emphasised that the initiative is not merely about deleting names but ensuring a clean, accurate voter list by removing deceased, shifted, and duplicate voters while adding newly eligible youth.
Mahajan addressed concerns related to the collection of Aadhaar numbers and mobile details, assuring that the Election Commission of India has implemented strong data privacy safeguards to protect voter information. He highlighted the extensive training provided to more than 52,000 Booth Level Officers (BLOs), ensuring efficient and transparent verification processes across Rajasthan.
Discussing the electoral roll timeline, Mahajan shared that Rajasthan’s final voter list will be published on February 7. He also gave insights into his administrative approach and spoke about how sports play a vital role in shaping his discipline, work ethic, and decision-making style.
