The Nitish Kumar resignation has created strong political activity in Bihar. Today, Nitish Kumar went to Raj Bhavan and submitted his resignation to Governor Arif Mohammad Khan. The Nitish Kumar resignation came soon after a final cabinet meeting at the Old Secretariat in Patna.
The cabinet meeting recommended dissolving the current assembly. Ministers thanked officials and appreciated the work done during the government’s term. They also praised the NDA’s large victory in the recent elections.
After the meeting, Nitish Kumar reached Raj Bhavan with Vijay Chaudhary and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary. They met the Governor for nearly half an hour. Soon after, Nitish Kumar handed over his resignation.
Sources say he may take oath again as Chief Minister on November 20th. Preparations for the ceremony have already started at Gandhi Maidan in Patna.
NDA leaders will meet tomorrow to elect their Legislature Party leader. Once this is done, Nitish Kumar may again visit Raj Bhavan to stake claim to form the new government. Until then, he will continue as acting Chief Minister.
The situation is changing quickly, and Bihar is preparing for another major political shift.
