Nitish Govt Cabinet Formula Sparks Talk of Rajput Deputy CM

Discussion on Nitish Govt Cabinet Formula and possible Rajput Deputy CM in Bihar

The Nitish Govt Cabinet Formula is creating fresh political buzz in Bihar. Leaders are discussing whether the new NDA government will have two or three Deputy Chief Ministers. The Nitish Govt Cabinet Formula also opens the door for one Rajput leader to become a Deputy CM, which has increased interest across upper-caste groups.

Nitish Kumar and Samrat Chaudhary together already balance the Luv-Kush equation. Many BJP leaders say the second Deputy CM should come from an upper caste. Rajputs lead with 32 MLAs, so their claim looks strong. Bhumihars won 22 seats, but their chance seems limited this time. If BJP and JD(U) pick three Deputy CMs, Chirag Paswan’s party may get one slot for a Dalit representative.

Dalits hold a bigger number in the NDA with 35 MLAs. This gives them a strong negotiating position. Parties may also follow a “one minister for six MLAs” formula while distributing 35 ministerial posts. BJP could get 15–16 ministers, JD(U) around 14–15, LJP 3–4, and smaller allies one each.

The final cabinet structure will show how the NDA balances caste, party strength, and political promises made during the campaign.
