Students affected in Purnia school food poisoning after eating litti and chutne

A case of Purnia school food poisoning shocked Bihar on Monday. Fifteen girl students from the Government OBC Girls School in Purnia fell sick after eating litti and tomato chutney around 11 a.m. The girls said they felt dizzy soon after eating the meal. The incident created panic, and teachers rushed them to the Government Medical College Hospital.

The sick children are between 8 and 14 years old and study in Classes 6 and 7. Doctors confirmed that all fifteen students suffered from food poisoning. One girl was in serious condition earlier, but she fully recovered. The doctors said the children are now stable and safe.

Parents gathered at the hospital after hearing about the Purnia school food poisoning incident. Officials acted quickly. The District Magistrate ordered a three-member investigation team. The team visited the school and hospital and spoke to the students. The children told them the litti was slightly raw, which may have caused indigestion.

Officials said strict action will be taken against those responsible. The school receives its mid-day meals through Jeevika. Authorities also said nearly 400 girls study in the school, and food safety will now be monitored more carefully.
