Karnataka Focuses on Inclusive Innovation, Developing Tier-2 Cities as Tech Hubs

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that when global innovation finds a home in Bengaluru and Karnataka, it gains the capacity to scale worldwide, reaffirming the State’s position as a leading technology and innovation hub. He highlighted that a defining feature of Karnataka’s development strategy is inclusivity, emphasising that growth must benefit communities across regions and economic backgrounds. As part of this vision, the State is decentralising the technology economy by nurturing Tier-2 cities such as Mysuru, Mangaluru, Hubballi-Dharwad, and Belagavi as emerging innovation clusters. These centres are being supported with improved infrastructure, talent development programmes, and industry partnerships to reduce Bengaluru’s concentration burden and broaden opportunities. Siddaramaiah added that Karnataka remains committed to fostering an ecosystem that welcomes global companies, supports startups, and strengthens research capabilities. The government aims to ensure that innovation not only thrives locally but also creates scalable solutions that contribute to global technological progress.
