Railway Office Scam Exposed, Deputy Chief Arrested

CBI Raid in Bihar railway office

The CBI raid in Bihar uncovered a major bribery scheme inside the East Central Railway’s construction office in Hajipur. During the operation, officers found nearly one crore rupees packed in eight envelopes. The CBI raid in Bihar also led to the arrest of the deputy chief engineer, an office clerk, a peon, and two contractors.

Sources say a Jharkhand-based company received a construction contract for a project from Sugauli in Motihari to Araria. Bribes were planned for several officials involved in the work. CBI teams searched every room, cupboard, and employee bag inside the premises. They even used a money-counting machine at night to verify the seized cash.

The arrested Deputy Chief Engineer Alok Kumar, clerk Alok Kumar Das, peon Manik Das, and two contractor staff members are now under investigation. More raids are being carried out at different locations linked to the case. Officials say the recovered money was meant to be distributed among multiple officers. The CBI has registered a detailed case and further action is underway.
