US President Donald Trump and Elon Musk appear to have repaired their strained relationship after Musk attended a White House dinner with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Trump hosted the event in Washington, DC, and he publicly praised Musk several times during his speech. He highlighted new tax benefits for domestic car manufacturing and joked that Musk had never properly thanked him.
Musk later responded by posting his thanks on X, sharing photos with Trump, the Saudi Crown Prince, and NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang. He wrote that he appreciated Trump’s contributions to America and the world.
Musk attended the event months after he completed his short role as head of the Department of Government Efficiency. He held the position from January until the end of May, when his special government employee contract concluded.
Reports now suggest that Musk’s allies are planning a reunion celebration in Austin to mark his time working with the Trump administration. The gathering will take place at a luxury hotel where Musk often stays. Dozens of current and former DOGE team members are expected at the two-day event, and Musk may attend if his schedule allows.
