Sukhu Slams BJP Govt for what he called one of the biggest land giveaways in Himachal’s recent history. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said the previous BJP government handed over 5,000 bighas of land worth hundreds of crores for just ₹1.12 crore to large industrial groups. He made the allegation while inaugurating and laying foundation stones of development projects worth ₹383 crore in Baddi.
Sukhu said his government protects Himachal’s resources with strict decisions. He added that the state even returned ₹30 crore to the Centre for the proposed bulk drug park so the project could be developed independently without compromising state interests.
The Chief Minister also distributed relief of ₹17.62 lakh to disaster-hit families and handed over cheques worth ₹17.03 lakh to beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Grameen. Under the Tuberculosis Eradication Programme, he gave nutrition kits to patients.
During the gathering, Sukhu accused the BJP’s social media cell of targeting him because he introduced tough anti-corruption measures. He said the earlier government allowed stamp duty waivers, cheap electricity at ₹3 per unit for five years and free water for big companies. Sukhu vowed to stop any attempt to exploit Himachal’s land and public assets.
