A major road accident occurred near Doddlavari Mitta in Pellakur mandal on Friday morning. A private Morning Star Travels bus lost control and overturned. The vehicle was travelling from Vijayawada to Bengaluru. A total of 21 passengers were on board during the incident.
The bus was moving at high speed when the driver reportedly failed to control it. Several passengers fell from their seats as the vehicle flipped to the side. Panic spread among the occupants as they tried to escape from the damaged bus. Six passengers suffered serious injuries.
Local residents rushed to the spot within minutes. They helped the passengers come out safely and alerted the police. Emergency teams reached the location and provided support. Ambulances transported the injured to the Naidupeta Government Hospital. Doctors are currently treating them and monitoring their condition.
Police registered a case and began an investigation. Officers are checking the road conditions and the speed of the bus. They are also planning to question the driver and the transport company. Officials urged private operators to follow safety rules to prevent such accidents in the Telugu states.
