London has maintained its title as the world’s best city for the 11th consecutive year, according to the 2026 World’s Best Cities Report by Resonance Consultancy with Ipsos. The British capital topped the list after scoring high in liveability, lovability, and prosperity. It ranked second for lovability and prosperity and third for liveability, keeping its strong overall performance.
The annual report highlights the top 100 global cities for living, working, and traveling in 2025–2026. European cities dominated the list, with only two Asian entries in the top ten. New York secured second place, followed by Paris in third. Tokyo ranked fourth, while Madrid and Singapore took fifth and sixth place.
Rome placed seventh, while Dubai earned eighth as the highest-ranked West Asian city. Berlin and Barcelona completed the top ten rankings.
The report also revealed Bengaluru as India’s best-performing city, ranking 29th worldwide. Mumbai followed at 40th, Delhi at 54th, and Hyderabad at 82nd. The study examined more than 270 cities with populations above one million and considered factors such as culture, connectivity, economy, safety, education, and quality of life. Cities earned a Place Power Score based on liveability, lovability, and prosperity, reflecting their ability to offer strong living conditions, happiness, and economic success.
