A VIP leader shot dead in Bihar early Friday morning has created tension in West Champaran. The victim, Kameshwar Sahni, served as the Chhoukadanon block president of the Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP). According to locals, he was washing his hands outside his house in Tinkoni village when two bikes arrived. Three armed men opened fire. The VIP leader shot dead in Bihar died on the spot.
People in the village rushed out after hearing the gunshots. The murder caused panic, and word spread quickly. Police teams from several stations reached the location. Raxaul DSP Manish Anand also arrived with a dog squad to begin the investigation.
Police said Kameshwar Sahni had a criminal record. Several cases were filed against him in the past. He had also been involved in Naxalite activities. Officers are checking possible motives, including personal rivalry and gang-related issues.
This incident is another blow to VIP chief Mukesh Sahni. His party suffered a complete defeat in the recent Bihar elections. Not a single candidate won, even though top posts were promised earlier. The murder adds to the political pressure on the party leadership. Police continue to investigate the case.
