The BJP Ready for All ZP Seats plan took center stage as State BJP President Damu Naik explained the party’s approach to the upcoming Zilla Panchayat elections. The BJP Ready for All ZP Seats message signals a confident push, but Naik also said the party may back independent candidates in areas where its support remains weak.
Naik told reporters that BJP teams have nearly completed the candidate selection process. The shortlist will soon go before the State Election Committee for approval. He said the party will consider experience, feedback from workers, the opinion of MLAs, the core committee’s view, and survey findings before finalising names.
He added that the BJP prefers contesting all seats but remains flexible. In constituencies without a strong BJP base, the party may support credible independents to strengthen its chances.
Responding to a question on women’s representation, Naik said the party wants to offer more opportunities to women beyond the reservation mandated by law. If ground conditions support the move, the BJP will increase women’s participation in the polls.
The party now aims to finalise its candidates quickly as election preparations gain momentum across the state.
