Kangra mourns pilot Namansh Syal after the tragic Tejas crash at the Dubai Air Show. The shock spread quickly across Patialakad village. People struggled to accept that Wing Commander Namansh Syal, 34, lost his life during a practice sortie at the event. He was known for discipline and courage, and he always carried out his duties with pride.
Syal served at the Hyderabad airbase. He earned deep respect for his dedication to the Indian Air Force. He leaves behind his wife Afsaan, also an IAF officer, and their five-year-old daughter. His parents, Jagan Nath and Bina Devi, were visiting him in Hyderabad at the time of the tragedy. Their grief has shaken the entire village.
Moreover, residents shared memories of Syal throughout the day. Village pradhan Mamta said she spoke to his mother, who was too heartbroken to express her pain. Former pradhan Sanjay Kumar Chaudhary added that Syal’s sacrifice touched every family in Patialakad. His words reflected the sorrow felt across the region.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu expressed deep grief as well. He said the nation had lost a brave and dedicated pilot. According to officials, Syal’s mortal remains will reach his native village by Sunday. He will receive full military honours.
