Preparations for the 12th General Election to the Lai Autonomous District Council are underway in Mizoram, with election officials receiving specialised training on November 23. The programme, organised at the DRDO Conference Hall, aimed to equip Dispatch and Receiving Teams with the necessary skills and procedural knowledge to ensure a smooth and error-free polling process.
District Election Officer Donny Lalruatsanga supervised the session and stressed the need for precision in managing election-related tasks. He said that the teams responsible for dispatching and receiving election materials hold a crucial role in ensuring the credibility and efficiency of the electoral exercise. Lalruatsanga urged all officials to work with sincerity and adhere to established guidelines.
The training covered operational procedures, handling protocols, prohibited activities, and essential rules that officials must follow while dealing with election materials. Master Trainer Gilbert Lalhlimpuia and Election Officer Collin Hlychho led the sessions, providing detailed instructions and addressing operational queries raised by participants.
Lalruatsanga expressed appreciation for the officers’ active participation and noted that thorough preparation would help them perform their responsibilities effectively during the upcoming council elections. The training is expected to strengthen the administrative readiness of the teams ahead of polling day.
