The Ritu Jaiswal symbol distribution controversy has created fresh tension in Bihar politics. Ritu Jaiswal, former state president of RJD Mahila Morcha, once again criticised RJD leaders. She said that irregularities in seat and symbol distribution hurt many loyal workers. She mentioned the Ritu Jaiswal symbol distribution controversy twice in her social media post and blamed top leadership for ignoring her.
Ritu Jaiswal wanted to contest from Parihar on the RJD symbol. But the party gave the symbol to Smita Purve, daughter-in-law of Ramchandra Purve. Ritu Jaiswal rebelled and contested as an independent candidate. She came second, while the official RJD candidate slipped to third.
Jaiswal also attacked the party for issuing notices to YouTubers and singers. She said the same party that failed to act against its rebel MLAs was now threatening online creators. According to her, viral songs featuring RJD flags, banners, and Tejashwi Yadav’s photos damaged the party’s image during the Bihar elections.
RJD leaders believe these songs helped the opposition. They say several artists used RJD symbols without permission. The party served legal notices to 32 creators, claiming the content defamed RJD and influenced voters.
