EC Begins Three-Day Review of SIR Activities in Chennai
Officials from the Election Commission of India (ECI) will begin reviewing Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) and media-related work under the State Information Resource (SIR) Phase-II in Tamil Nadu starting November 24. P. Pawan, Deputy Director, and Devansh Tiwari from the EC’s Media Division will visit Chennai from November 24 to 26 to assess media coordination efforts and the effectiveness of voter awareness initiatives. Their review will focus on how well ongoing campaigns are reaching diverse sections of the electorate and whether current communication strategies require strengthening ahead of upcoming electoral activities. The team is expected to meet senior officials, media partners, and stakeholders involved in implementing awareness programmes. They will also evaluate digital outreach, field-level mobilisation, and compliance with EC communication guidelines. The visit underscores the Commission’s emphasis on improving voter participation, ensuring transparency, and enhancing the overall quality of electoral communication in the State.
