BJP Alleges Model Code Violation Over Pension Form Distribution in Kerala

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has accused Kerala’s Left Democratic Front (LDF) government of violating the Model Code of Conduct ahead of the local body elections. BJP Kerala general secretary S. Suresh criticised the distribution of Sthree Suraksha pension forms, alleging that the move is politically motivated and aimed at influencing voters. According to him, circulating welfare-related forms during the election period is a deliberate attempt to project the government’s schemes and gain electoral advantage.
The BJP has demanded that the State Election Commission take immediate action and prevent further distribution of such forms until the voting process is completed. Party leaders argue that even if the scheme existed earlier, pushing its forms during the election season creates an impression of new benefits being offered.
The LDF has dismissed the allegations, stating that routine administrative activities should not be misinterpreted as violations. The issue has added to the growing political tension in the run-up to the polls.
