AIADMK Ignores Panneerselvam’s Reconciliation Deadline Amid Leadership Shifts
The AIADMK has dismissed the deadline set by former Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam for reconciliation within the party, signalling continued internal friction. Party sources said that leadership is not inclined to rush any resolution, and the focus remains on consolidating support ahead of upcoming elections.
Meanwhile, speculation is growing about the future of K.A. Sengottaiyan, an expelled senior leader of the AIADMK and current MLA from Gobichettipalayam. Reports suggest that Sengottaiyan may soon join the Tamil Vivasayigal Katchi (TVK), led by actor Vijay, though he was unavailable for comment. Political analysts note that his potential shift could impact local dynamics, especially in western Tamil Nadu constituencies where he wields considerable influence.
The ongoing factional tensions and movement of senior leaders highlight the challenges the AIADMK faces in maintaining cohesion. Observers say the party’s approach in the coming weeks will be crucial in shaping its electoral prospects and managing defections.
