Jaipur: The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) has firmly rejected the application submitted by Buildcon Consultant Limited seeking the removal of a seal placed on unauthorized construction at Manglam Radiance on Tonk Road. The disputed structure, located on the 12th floor of Tower A, includes a room and bathroom built on the common terrace—an area not designated for private construction under the approved building plan.

JDA officials also pointed out that the window of flat 1201 had been altered into a full entry gate providing access to the sealed portion, further strengthening the case of deliberate encroachment. A notice for removal of the illegal construction was issued on 20 December 2023, and following non-compliance, the structure was officially sealed on 3 August 2024 under directives from the Urban Development Department.

The builder argued that the construction was a temporary setup intended for “plantation activities,” a claim JDA termed baseless and misleading. Accepting such a request, authorities noted, would effectively create private ownership over a common terrace, violating the rights of other residents.

Urban development experts say this decisive stand sends a strong message for future cases. They emphasize strict monitoring after any future unsealing to ensure adherence to building norms and to prevent misuse of common spaces in high-rise residential complexes.
