President Murmu’s emotional address in the Odisha Assembly created a historic moment on Thursday. She spoke in the House that shaped her political journey. The day felt “truly special” to her because her growth began inside this very Assembly. Her message built a warm and heartfelt connection with the members.
She said, “Whatever I am today, the credit goes to this House.” She thanked the Assembly for guiding her path from an MLA to the President of India. Murmu also expressed deep gratitude to Mahaprabhu Jagannath and said His blessings helped her reach this position.
The President recalled her years as an MLA and Minister. She remembered how she raised questions in the House and later answered them as a minister. Seeing several former colleagues in the gallery brought her great joy.
She highlighted Odisha’s rich heritage and strong maritime history. Murmu also mentioned great leaders such as Madhusudan Das, Harekrushna Mahatab, and Biju Patnaik. She praised the growing role of women in politics and noted the rise in women MLAs.
According to her, Odisha has huge potential. She urged all members to work with dedication to build a prosperous state by 2036.
