Naveen Patnaik greeted President Droupadi Murmu in the Odisha Assembly and set a warm and respectful mood on Thursday. He welcomed her on behalf of the Opposition and spoke about her strong bond with Odisha. His words showed pride in her journey.
He said that people across the country look to the President for guidance and inspiration. Calling her the “daughter of the soil,” he said Odisha feels proud of her rise from MLA to the President of India. He also reminded the House that she began her political journey in the same Assembly 25 years ago.
Patnaik added that India’s real strength lies in unity in diversity. Different cultures, languages, and lifestyles come together to form one nation. He also highlighted Odisha’s historic role in integrating princely states like Nilgiri in 1947.
He paid tribute to Utkal Gourav Madhusudan Das for working to create a separate province of Odisha on a language basis. Patnaik said the country now looks to President Murmu for leadership, moral strength, and the protection of the Constitution.
