The Baina dacoity accused arrested in Goa as police recovered most stolen valuables, including gold, silver, and cash worth Rs 35 lakh. The Baina dacoity accused arrested in Goa were brought to Vasco Police Station today for questioning, while one suspect remains at large.

DGP Alok Kumar said the investigation involved multiple teams, technical surveillance, CCTV analysis, and tracing the source of housebreaking tools. “We treated this case as a challenge and followed every lead,” he added. The six arrested suspects are originally from Odisha and were traced to Bhiwandi, Kalyan, and Badlapur in Maharashtra.

SP South Tikam Singh Verma noted that one accused had previously worked for the victim family as a helper and gathered information about the house. Darkness during the incident prevented the family from identifying him.

Kumar urged citizens to verify tenants and employees by sharing photos, IDs, and mobile numbers to help prevent crime. He also asked media not to reveal operational methods, which could alert criminals.

The DGP clarified that the Baina dacoity is not linked to recent Mapusa and Dona Paula cases. Meanwhile, investigations continue into other crimes, including the Saligao double murder and the recovery of stolen vehicles. Police also highlighted their ongoing campaign against unauthorized foreigners in Goa.
