Aviation Safety Week 2025 Shines

Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport marked Aviation Safety Week 2025 with a focused series of activities. The programme ran from November 24 to 28 and brought together airport staff, airlines, ATC teams and local residents.

The week began with an inauguration led by the Airport Director. He also met department heads to set clear goals. A training session followed and covered hazard reporting, FOD control and wildlife risk reduction. These sessions encouraged direct and timely reporting.

On November 25, the team carried out a Runway FOD Walk. Senior officials and airline representatives joined the activity. ATC officers attended a session on manual updates and situational awareness. Later, the Operations team visited Raja Sansi village to promote safe waste disposal and reduce bird activity.

The next day focused on Low Visibility Procedures. Airside drivers learned safe driving steps for CAT-II and CAT-III conditions. Electrical teams also checked AGL, ALS and DG systems and ensured proper functioning.

Fire Services led full-scale emergency drills on November 27. A drawing competition in AAI Colony added community engagement.

The final day highlighted the key message: safety grows through continuous practice. Aviation Safety Week 2025 strengthened awareness and encouraged teamwork across all departments.
