The Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Winter Session 2025 begins today, 1 December, and will continue until 5 December. The Mohan Yadav-led government is set to present a ₹10,000 crore second supplementary budget during the four-day session. Two major bills—direct election of Nagar Palika chairpersons and the Shops & Establishments (Amendment) Bill 2025—are also expected to be introduced.
The Assembly Secretariat has received 1,497 questions, including 751 starred, 746 unstarred, 194 calling-attention notices, 6 adjournment motions, 14 private resolutions, 52 zero-hour notices, and 2 government bills. No sitting will be held on 3 December, the anniversary of the Bhopal Gas Tragedy.
The opposition Congress is preparing to strongly counter the government. In its strategy meeting held at LoP Umang Singhar’s residence, the party listed issues it will raise—SIR controversy, toxic cough syrup incident, MSP for maize and soybean, smart electricity meters, OBC reservation, and unemployment. A heated session is expected as both sides brace for intense debate.
