Andhra Pradesh to Launch Film Tourism Policy to Boost Telugu Cinema
Andhra Pradesh is set to roll out a new film tourism policy aimed at strengthening the Telugu film industry and attracting global productions. The government envisions developing world-class studios and promoting seven anchor hubs across the state, targeting a 20% share of India’s film industry.
Minister Kandula Durgesh announced several incentives for filmmakers, including reimbursement of stamp duty, SGST waivers for 15 years, and capital subsidies of up to 25% for infrastructure development. These measures are designed to reduce production costs, encourage investment, and enhance the state’s appeal as a filming destination.
The policy also aims to integrate tourism with cinema, offering curated experiences at studio locations and iconic filming sites to attract domestic and international visitors. Officials believe that the initiative will generate employment, stimulate local economies, and establish Andhra Pradesh as a hub for both film production and film-based tourism, reinforcing its cultural and economic footprint.
