Hyderabad: Hardik Pandya delivered a stellar all-round performance as Baroda defeated Punjab by seven wickets in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Elite Group C match on Tuesday. Chasing a challenging target of 223, Baroda completed the job with five balls to spare, scoring 224/3 in 19.1 overs.
Pandya remained unbeaten on 77 off 42 balls, smashing seven fours and four sixes to anchor the chase. Shivalik Sharma played a crucial knock of 47 off 31 balls, while Vishnu Solanki added 43 from 21 deliveries. Shashwat Rawat also contributed a quick 31 off 18 balls to ensure Baroda stayed ahead in the chase.
From Punjab’s side, Ashwini Kumar and Ramandeep Singh picked up one wicket each, but the bowlers struggled to contain Baroda’s aggressive batting lineup.
