A.P. Government Buildings to Be Equipped with Solar Panels
The Andhra Pradesh government has announced a major push towards clean energy by mandating the installation of solar power panels on all government buildings. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said the initiative aims to cut electricity costs and promote sustainable energy use across departments.
As part of the broader green mobility plan, the State will set up 5,000 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations to support the growing shift toward electric transport. Additionally, the government will procure 1,000 electric buses for APSRTC to modernise the fleet and reduce carbon emissions.
These measures are expected to significantly reduce the State’s carbon footprint while encouraging public adoption of renewable energy and EVs. The government is also exploring policy incentives and partnerships to accelerate infrastructure development and make Andhra Pradesh a leader in clean energy initiatives
