Vijay Criticises DMK Government Over Incomplete Stormwater Drain Work in Chennai
TVK chief Vijay has sharply criticised the DMK government for failing to complete key stormwater drain works in Chennai ahead of the monsoon. He said that despite repeated assurances, several neighbourhoods continue to face flooding risks due to unfinished or poorly executed drainage projects.
Vijay argued that the government’s inability to complete such essential civic infrastructure exposes residents to hardship every rainy season. He urged authorities to speed up pending works, ensure quality construction, and hold contractors accountable for delays.
The TVK leader, who has been increasingly vocal on civic issues, stressed that Chennai requires long-term, scientific planning to prevent chronic waterlogging. Citizens, he added, should not suffer due to administrative lapses. His remarks come amid growing public frustration over recurring drainage problems across the city despite heavy investments in urban infrastructure.
