BJP Targets Telangana CM Revanth Over Remarks on Hinduism, Congress Culture
The BJP has stirred controversy following remarks by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, in which he drew a comparison between the diversity in Hinduism and the political culture within the Congress party. Speaking at a meeting with newly appointed District Congress Committee (DCC) presidents, CM Revanth urged them to be accommodative and respectful of differing opinions, regardless of personal beliefs.
The BJP criticised the comments, alleging that the Chief Minister’s statement was inappropriate and amounted to a political jibe against the Congress. Supporters of the CM, however, argue that his remarks were intended to emphasise tolerance, internal debate, and unity within party ranks, especially as leaders navigate local and regional challenges.
Revanth Reddy’s comments have sparked debate across political circles, highlighting the sensitivity of drawing analogies between religious principles and party politics, and raising questions about the fine line between internal guidance and public commentary.
