Rajasthan’s Special Operation Group (SOG) has arrested three individuals for allegedly using fake Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) certificates to secure medical internships in government hospitals. Officials said the accused, who completed MBBS degrees abroad, repeatedly failed the mandatory FMGE exam required to practice medicine in India.

SOG chief Vishal Bansal revealed that Dr. Piyush Kumar Trivedi from Dausa obtained a forged FMGE certificate through a criminal network after failing the exam three times between 2022 and 2024. Using the fake certificate, he secured NMC approval and an internship posting at Government Medical College, Karauli.

Investigations further uncovered that his associates, Dr. Devendra Singh Gurjar and Dr. Shubham Gurjar, were also part of the racket. Both allegedly procured fake FMGE certificates through the same group. Shubham completed his internship at Rajiv Gandhi Hospital, Alwar, while Devendra did so at Government Medical College, Dausa.

The SOG has arrested all three and is probing the wider network involved in the fraud.
