KTR Vows to Scrap HILTP, Alleges Massive Undervaluation of Industrial Lands
K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) announced that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) will scrap the Hyderabad Industrial Lands Transformation Policy (HILTP) if it returns to power. During a visit to industrial areas in Hyderabad, he criticised the policy as a massive land scam, alleging that thousands of acres of industrial land are being diverted for real-estate ventures instead of being preserved for industries and job creation.
KTR claimed that the actual market value of these lands ranges between ₹1 lakh and ₹1.5 lakh per square yard, yet the State Government is handing them over to private industrialists for as low as ₹4,000 per square yard. He argued that such undervaluation harms public interest and benefits select groups.
If BRS forms the government, he said the land would be repurposed for socially beneficial projects, including IT parks, affordable housing for the poor, government schools, hospitals, and other essential public infrastructure
