Venkaiah Naidu Urges Telugu Proficiency for Govt Jobs
Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu has called for making proficiency in Telugu mandatory for government jobs, emphasizing the need to preserve and promote the language among the younger generation. Speaking at an event in Machilipatnam, he stressed that language plays a vital role in cultural identity and effective governance, and that knowledge of the local language should be considered essential for public service.
The remarks were made during the Krishna Tarang-2025 youth festival, which saw active participation from students of 144 colleges affiliated with Krishna University. The festival featured a range of cultural, academic, and sporting events, aimed at fostering talent, creativity, and leadership skills among students.
Organizers highlighted that Krishna Tarang provides a platform for youth to showcase their abilities while celebrating regional heritage. The event also reinforced the importance of combining educational excellence with cultural awareness, encouraging students to stay rooted in Telugu traditions while aspiring for broader achievements.
