An uncontrolled dumper entered a no-entry zone near Kargahar More in Sasaram and crashed into the Scorpio of DSP Kumar Vaibhav. The vehicle was hit with great force, and its front side was badly damaged. A crowd gathered quickly as people rushed to see what happened.
DSP Vaibhav and his bodyguard were inside the Scorpio during the accident. Both escaped with minor injuries, but the impact shocked the locals. Many people said such incidents show how unsafe the roads have become.
The DSP explained that he reached the Kargahar turn through Takiya Bridge when the dumper tried to overtake from the wrong side. Police acted fast, reached the spot, and seized the dumper. The DSP said that an investigation has started to find out how heavy vehicles are entering no-entry zones.
Residents questioned the traffic police and asked how dumpers are entering the city so easily. They argued that if police vehicles are not safe, ordinary citizens face even bigger danger.
Traffic Police Station Officer Subodh Kumar Mandal said a fine will be imposed on the dumper driver. The vehicle owner claimed that the Sub-Divisional Officer had allowed the dumper to enter the city.
