A celebratory firing incident during a wedding in Jehanabad, Bihar created panic among the guests. The celebratory firing incident happened when people were enjoying a dance performance at a procession. In the middle of the celebration, a young man named Vikas Kumar (25) was hit by a bullet. He was immediately shifted from the local hospital to PMCH, Patna, for better treatment.
The wedding took place in Rupaich village, where families from both sides gathered to watch the dance. As the music played, someone fired shots into the air, causing sudden chaos. The crowd scattered, and people tried to understand what happened while the injured youth was taken to safety.
Police from Mehendia Police Station reached the spot quickly after receiving information. Former JDU district president Jitendra Patel was brought in for questioning. He was later released on bond after the injured youth stated that he did not see who fired the shot. An FIR has been filed against unknown individuals.
Despite the turmoil, the wedding rituals were completed later.
