A JDU MP and MLA extortion case has created tension in Bihar after two party leaders received phone calls demanding Rs 10 lakh. The JDU MP and MLA extortion case came to light when MP Vijay Laxmi Devi from Siwan and MLA Indradev Singh Patel from Barharia reported the threats to the police.
The callers demanded Rs 10 lakh and warned the leaders of severe consequences if they failed to pay. Both representatives filed FIRs, and the police have started an investigation. Officials said anti-social groups may be involved. The police also stated that arrests are expected soon as they trace the source of the calls.
The incident has sparked concern about the rising security risks faced by public representatives. Authorities are treating the case as a serious attempt at intimidation.
