Tajpur-Bakhtiyarpur Bridge Construction: Strict Action Begins

Officials discuss progress of Tajpur-Bakhtiyarpur bridge construction during review meeting

Chief Secretary Pratyay Amrit has taken strong steps to speed up the Tajpur-Bakhtiyarpur bridge construction in Bihar. He warned officials that slow progress on the Tajpur-Bakhtiyarpur bridge construction will not be tolerated. He asked departments to start work quickly on all pending structures and maintain steady progress.

In a review meeting held on Monday, he said the project must be completed within the set deadline. He also announced that review meetings will take place every Monday to check daily progress and remove any roadblocks.

Officials discussed resource availability, coordination between departments, and faster decision-making. The Chief Secretary stressed that the government is giving top priority to major river bridges to support Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s goal—reducing travel time to five hours from any part of Bihar to Patna.

The Tajpur-Bakhtiyarpur Ganga Bridge is one of the most important projects supporting this vision. Senior officials including Dr. Sandeep Kumar R. Pudkalkatti, Secretary of Road Construction, and Kapil Ashok, Managing Director of BSRDCL, were present at the review meeting.
