MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has issued a legal notice to Dr. Navjot Kaur Sidhu after she accused him of corruption during Congress ticket distribution in Rajasthan and hinted at links with gangsters. The notice states that her allegations are completely false, fabricated, and driven by political rivalry, causing serious damage to Randhawa’s public image.
According to the notice, these statements amount to criminal defamation under Section 356 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. Randhawa has demanded an unconditional public apology within seven days and the withdrawal of all remarks from media and social platforms.
The notice warns that failure to comply will result in criminal defamation proceedings in Batala court, along with claims for legal costs and damages. Randhawa asserted that he has always upheld transparency and public service and will not allow false allegations to tarnish his reputation.
