Rajasthan is set to witness a harsher winter as the impact of a western disturbance increases cold and fog across the state. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for a severe cold wave and dense fog from December 9 to 11, signalling a further drop in comfort levels. Despite no major fall in minimum temperatures, icy winds from northern states and snowfall in the hills have intensified the chill in plains.

Several regions, including Shekhawati, reported biting cold even during daytime, with foggy mornings reducing visibility. Parts of western Rajasthan saw partial cloud cover, slightly increasing temperatures but offering no real relief. IMD predicts that cold winds will continue to dominate, making afternoons uncomfortable as well. The department expects fog to persist for the next four days, while dry weather prevails during the day. Residents have been advised to take precautions as the cold wave conditions strengthen.
