A tragic accident unfolded in Bathinda late Monday night when a car learning drive turned fatal. Three men, who were practising driving after midnight, lost control of their speeding vehicle near the Sirhind Canal. The car slipped off the road and plunged directly into the canal, shocking residents in the area. PCR teams rushed to the spot and pulled all three occupants out after an intense rescue effort.
One of them, identified as 40-year-old Ari Ansari, died on the spot. The other two — 40-year-old Mukhtiar Ansari and 18-year-old Mohammad Ansari — suffered serious injuries and were admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment. According to Canal Police Station SHO Harjot Singh, all three victims are residents of Uttar Pradesh. Police stated that further legal action will be initiated after the statements of the family members are formally recorded.
