The Samastipur double murder case has finally reached a breakthrough after one year. The police, with support from the Special Task Force (STF), arrested key planner Sudhir Madhan, his son Aman, and two shooters. The Samastipur double murder case involved the killing of land dealer Vijay Gupta and a Toto driver.
Police said Sudhir gave ₹5 lakh to the shooters. Officers recovered the murder weapon, country-made pistols, cartridges, and two Pulsar bikes. Sudhir, a resident of Gudri Bazaar, and the shooters, Ashutosh and Phool Babu, belong to areas under Kalyanpur police station.
The murders happened on December 21 last year, when Gupta and driver Ganesh Sahni were shot in broad daylight. Sudhir was present during the crime but escaped. Earlier, he was arrested and got bail due to lack of evidence.
The investigation picked up speed after police found the Pulsar bike and arrested Phool Babu. His confession exposed the entire plot. He said Sudhir showed him Gupta’s photo and instructed him to identify the target.
Police believe a land dispute caused the crime. Sudhir even used a passerby’s phone to avoid suspicion. Raids continue to catch the remaining shooter, while Sudhir and Ashutosh face fresh charges from their past criminal cases.
