Land Mafia Crackdown: Bihar Begins Major Action to End Disputes

land mafia crackdown in bihar government action

Bihar has started a strong Land Mafia Crackdown, with the state government launching a master plan to end long-standing land disputes. The Nitish Kumar government said the Land Mafia Crackdown will help stop illegal land capture and fix delays in public services.

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha said the state received 4.6 million applications under the Revenue Campaign, and 1.2 million have already been uploaded. He said filing and revision will get top priority, with weekly reviews. Complaints will be checked quickly, and unnecessary rejections will be controlled.

Sinha added that reasons must be given for every rejection. Fake documents will lead to strict action. Flying squads will investigate and ensure transparency. He said new projects will be visible by March.

He also warned officials who delay work. They must explain any pending tasks. Sinha said the government will target not only the land mafia but also the white-collar people who protect them.

Local officials will be allowed to work only from designated Panchayats. Revenue courts will speed up cases. Officials will receive special training, and all circles will be monitored through CCTV. The entire application process will become fully transparent.
