Bihar Coaching Policy Shake-Up: New Rules Bring Big Changes Ahead

Students and officials discussing the Bihar coaching policy changes

The Bihar coaching policy is set for a major update in the coming year. The Bihar coaching policy will come into effect from April 2026, marking the start of the 2026–27 academic year. Preparations have moved fast as the Education Department plans to revise the rules and send them to the Cabinet soon.

The policy was first proposed before the assembly elections but was returned for corrections. After revisions, the department will now seek approval from the state-level authority. Elections caused a delay, but officials are confident that the new rules will begin next year.

One of the biggest changes is that government teachers will not be allowed to teach in coaching institutes. If a teacher is found doing so, strict action will be taken. Government schools and institutions will also not get access to coaching centres.

Coaching centres must follow new rules. They cannot run classes during school hours. A district committee led by the District Magistrate will approve coaching registrations. Institutes must clearly display all course fees and avoid overcharging.

Complaints will be investigated quickly. Unregistered centres and those giving false information may lose their registration. Random inspections will be held to ensure transparency.
