Pakistan Assembly Cash Chaos Sparks Laughter

Assembly

A light-hearted moment broke the usual tension in Pakistan’s National Assembly when Speaker Ayaz Sadiq found ten PKR 5,000 notes near his seat. The cash totalled around Rs 16,000. He lifted the notes in the air and asked the members to identify the owner. The chamber burst into laughter when nearly a dozen lawmakers raised their hands at once.

Sadiq responded with a quick joke, pointing out that twelve members claimed ten notes. The incident drew swift reactions online. Many users mocked the lawmakers and questioned their integrity. One user called them “the system’s rotten eggs,” while another claimed that Pakistan could not progress with such people in power.

Some viewers defended the lawmakers. They argued that most of them had raised their hands only to join the humour. Others said the moment showed a rare, relaxed side of the Assembly.

The matter ended without drama. PTI leader Muhammad Iqbal Afridi stepped forward later as the actual owner. He collected his money from the Assembly office once officials confirmed his claim.

The episode continued to trend online, reflecting the public’s appetite for unusual moments in Pakistan’s political arena..
