The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet approved several key proposals during its latest meeting. Ministers announced a major reward for state athlete Sri Charani, who excelled in the Women’s World Cup. The Cabinet decided to grant her ₹2.5 crore, along with 500 square yards of residential land in Visakhapatnam. It also cleared a proposal to offer her a Group-1 job after she completes her graduation.
The Cabinet also approved 44 major items. It sanctioned ₹9,613 crore for 506 pending projects under the AMRUT 2.0 programme. Ministers allowed tenders for constructing Lok Bhavan in Amaravati with an estimated cost of ₹163 crore. The responsibility to approve L1 bids was assigned to the CRDA Commissioner.
In another decision, the Cabinet permitted the Amaravati Development Corporation MD to handle L1 bid approvals for the E3 road expansion. It also cleared the proposal to enhance funding for the Palar check dam in Kuppam, raising the allocation to ₹15.96 crore. This project aims to improve water management in the region.
The Cabinet gave approval to upgrade 417 teacher posts in tribal welfare schools. It also agreed to appoint experienced individuals as chairpersons and members in the Social Welfare Department. Ministers said these steps will support administrative efficiency and welfare reforms.
