CM Revanth Reddy Pledges ₹1,000 Crore for Osmania University’s World-Class Upgrade
In a historic announcement at the iconic Arts College, CM Revanth Reddy allocates ₹1,000 crore to transform Osmania University into a world-class institution. Speaking before students and faculty, the Chief Minister said this investment will modernise the university, strengthen research, and restore its legacy. With this decision, CM Revanth Reddy allocates ₹1,000 crore to upgrade infrastructure, digital systems, and global collaboration programs.
He invoked the spirit of Komuram Bheem’s struggle for Adivasi dignity and the region’s armed peasant movements against feudal rule. He also highlighted Osmania University’s central role in the Telangana movement, calling it a symbol of democratic expression and youth leadership.
The proposed makeover includes improved hostels, advanced laboratories, renovated classrooms, and enhanced learning facilities. Officials stated that the funds will be released in phases to ensure transparent and timely execution.
Students welcomed the announcement, saying it will help the university compete with top institutions worldwide. Faculty members expressed hope that the investment will boost research opportunities and improve academic standards.
The government confirmed that a special committee will oversee the project and monitor progress throughout the makeover.
