RLM split threat has intensified within the Rashtriya Lok Morcha as fresh signs of internal unrest emerge. The party, led by Rajya Sabha MP Upendra Kushwaha, has already seen several leaders quit over the induction of his son, Deepak Prakash, into the Nitish Kumar cabinet. The decision has angered many within the party.
The situation took a sharper turn after RLM MLA Rameshwar Mahato shared a pointed Facebook post. Though he named no one, his message spoke about leadership intentions drifting away from public interest. The post quickly went viral and sparked intense political debate. Many party insiders believe the remarks target Kushwaha’s leadership style.
Mahato represents Bajpatti in Sitamarhi district and is among the four RLMO MLAs elected in the recent Bihar Assembly polls. The party contested six seats within the NDA and won four, including one won by Kushwaha’s wife, Snehlata.
The unrest began when Kushwaha bypassed sitting MLAs and secured a ministerial post for his son, who is not a legislator. This move triggered resignations by senior leaders, including the party’s national vice president.
With MLAs openly unhappy, the RLM split threat now looms large over Bihar’s political landscape.
