Officials said the A.P. Cabinet approves DA hike to strengthen employee welfare. The revised allowance will come into effect soon after the government issues formal orders.
At the same time, the Cabinet approved the State Water Action Plan. This plan focuses on water conservation, better irrigation, and stronger drought-preparedness across Andhra Pradesh.
In addition, the Cabinet cleared the draft A.P. Prisons and Correctional Services Act, 2025. The new law will replace the outdated Central laws of 1894. It focuses on rehabilitation, transparent administration, and improved prison management.
According to officials, the State Water Action Plan includes groundwater monitoring, infrastructure upgrades, and promotion of sustainable water use. Therefore, the government expects long-term benefits for both agriculture and drinking water needs.
Ministers said these decisions show a clear commitment to employee welfare, resource protection, and modern governance. Moreover, prison reforms will align the State with current national and global standards.
Officials confirmed that detailed guidelines will be issued shortly. Departments have already started preparations to ensure smooth implementation.
