The Land Reforms and Welfare Dialogue began in Patna on Friday, marking a strong push by Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha to fix long-pending land issues. Through the Land Reforms and Welfare Dialogue, the government wants faster solutions and clear accountability.
On the first day, the programme took place at Vijay Sinha’s official residence in Patna. Complaints poured in from several districts. As a result, senior officials remained present to respond immediately. Moreover, Vijay Sinha warned that negligence in land matters will invite strict punishment.
During the interaction, the dialogue covered land mutation, measurement, refinement, encroachment on public land, and disputes. Importantly, Vijay Sinha personally reviewed many cases. He spoke directly with applicants and officers to ensure quick decisions.
Furthermore, he directed officials to act within one week against employees found guilty of delays or misconduct. He also made it clear that land fraud using fake records will face zero tolerance. District Magistrates must submit reports against the culprits.
Meanwhile, citizens received guidance on online services such as Jamabandi, mutation status, land maps, and revenue payments. Finally, the government confirmed that the Reforms and Welfare Dialogue will reach all districts within the next 100 days.
