Waqf Tribunal gives Telangana board three-month extension for UMEED portal

The Waqf Tribunal grants Telangana board a three-month extension for the UMEED portal, officials said on Friday. The extension allows the board additional time to complete pending technical and administrative requirements.
The UMEED portal, launched to streamline Waqf property management and improve transparency, faced delays due to technical glitches and data integration issues. The tribunal reviewed the progress and granted the extension after considering the board’s request.
Officials said the extra time will be used to enhance the portal’s functionality, ensure proper record maintenance, and provide better access to stakeholders. The board has also been asked to submit regular updates on progress.
Legal experts said the extension will help Telangana Waqf Board comply with regulatory requirements while avoiding operational disruptions. Authorities added that the portal is expected to go fully live after the extended period.
Stakeholders welcomed the decision, noting that it would improve transparency and accountability in Waqf management across the state.
